What is the Dive Flag Alpha?
The dive flag alpha, known as the international signal ‘A’ (alpha), is essential for indicating the presence of divers in the water. Its display is crucial for the safety of divers and must be visible when vessels are engaged in diving operations.
Regulatory Requirement
According to the International Rules for Prevention of Collisions at Sea (IRPCS) rule 27, any vessel engaged in diving operations is required to display the alpha flag. This requirement helps prevent accidents by alerting other boats to the fact that divers are in the water.
Flag Specifications and Durability
The dive flag measures 720mm x 600mm and is meticulously stitched at all ends for added durability. Made from strong, long-lasting material, this flag ensures that it withstands the marine environment while signaling for divers’ safety.
